A Month Out, What Has Changed?

In the month since our digital webinar, we have seen beginnings of change in Columbus.

Mayor Ginther and Chief of Police Quinlan established a Chief Advisory Panel, "The advisory panel is designed to allow community stakeholders to have a meaningful way to provide input into strategies, development of community policing practices, and increasing community transparency into police operations." One of the members of this panel is our very own Board Member, Andrew Pierce II. The Columbus statue in front of Columbus City Hall has been taken down as a symbol of racism and genocide. The John Glenn College of Public Affairs has been tasked to conduct an independent review of the Columbus Police Department's actions during the Black Lives Matter Protests of late May and June of 2020.

Change is good on a large scale, but it begins with individual commitments to being better stewards of our communities. Please share the steps you have taken to become an active citizen in your community!
